He led the firefighters to the 4-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl after the deadly fire broke out in their Florida home.

Neighbors called 911 after hearing an explosion and rushed over to see if they could help, but they were only able to ger the children’s mother out the window.

Margo Feaser, the mother, who is an investigator at the County Sheriff’s office, then immediately tried to run back in the house:

“Her primary concern was to get back in there and to rescue her children. She’s an absolute trooper. She’s a hero within our organization and her actions tonight demonstrate that behavior. We’re very proud of her.”

County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Dennis Lemma told WFTV9 News.

Feaser was restrained while firefighters fought through the fire to rescue her husband and their two children, but not without the help of their loyal dog.

“Maxx, the family dog, is credited with assisting firefighters through the heavy smoke to the location of each of the two children,” according to a GoFundMe page set up to help the family.

Thankfully, each family member is in stable condition and Maxx is only being treated for smoke inhalation.

Clearly, Maxx hasn’t forgotten how to serve and protect, this time it was his very own family, what a hero!
