This is the moment a couple of sweet baby foxes came up to the back door to say hi
‘A baby fox showed up to say hi at my grandmother’s house’
These small playful creatures were captured in these beautiful photos shared on Reddit by user Vechrotex.
The inquisitive young foxes seem to be curiously exploring Vechrotex’s grandmother’s porch, and even peering inside, presumable after a snack.
‘Update: The baby fox at my grandmother’s house has a friend and they are chasing each other’
The cubs’ mother kept an eye on the curious pair while they were exploring, “The mom comes by a lot more than the baby foxes. She is always close when her babies are on the porch.”
Another update to the baby foxes: his friend caught his tail!
“Here in Illinois we get red foxes in forested areas, we see these adorable animals a lot and it’s not that big of a deal,” Vechrotex told Bored Panda.
Now Grandma gets a nice view of the Fox family who regularly visits her porch, the cubs frolic about and put on a show.
“One day my grandma saw a baby red fox and took a picture of it. She shared the cute fox picture with me and I thought it was just so adorable, I decided to post it. I’m glad I was able to make so many people happy!”
Newborn foxes are born blind and deaf and weighing only around 120g. It takes 14 days for their eyes to open to show a striking shade of blue.
After around 4 weeks, their eyes change to a grayish color and white fur shows up around the mouth and red on the face.
At this stage, it is difficult to tell them apart from their parents, they really do grow up too quickly.
