One day, Brighid Rose was visiting her parents when she met a tiny mouse who had been making himself at home.
The tiny visitor had been scavenging for food in her parent’s cabinets. They wanted it gone and were hoping her cat would of assistance.
But Brighid decided to take a more gentle approach, “I scooped him up and brought him out to the field behind their house,” she said to The Dodo.
But she went one step further than just moving him outside.
“I felt bad just leaving him there in the field, especially since he must have been used to eating all that human food in my parents’ cabinets. So I brought him a little goodbye picnic.”
She put down a napkin to act as a picnic blanket and put some little bits of food on it. It’s safe to say the mouse loved it.
“It was really sweet, he let me sit next to him for over an hour. He seemed very happy to me.”

After enjoying each other’s company for a while, Bridgid found the mouse a spot where he would be sheltered and also left him a few snacks to help his transition outside.
“I have always just really loved animals. I didn’t really think too hard about it. Like, I should do this for him! It’s not his fault he’s a little mouse in a big world! It was so cute! Definitely made my day.”
