Meet Milkshake, the beautifully unique pink pug, who is just one of less than 100 pink pugs around the world.
The two year old pup was born with albinism, which cause his unusual coloring.
He was born with a crazy cute and squishy face, bright baby blue eyes and the real star of the show, his blush pink fur/skin.
The albino gene was inherited from his lineage. When Maria, his human momma, spotted him among his siblings, she couldn’t not choose him.
Milkshake was only 10 weeks old when Maria took him home, and since then he has pretty much become Instagram famous.
Maria commented:
I had never even heard of pink pugs before, but when I went to the breeder and spotted Milkshake I thought he was adorable, and knew I had to have him.
They’re very rare. At the time, I think Milkshake was one of 30 in the world but there have been a few litters. There’s no more than 100 worldwide.
He’s not actually albino – he just has the colouring so he doesn’t suffer from any sight loss or hearing loss. He’s a happy healthy boy.
Milkshake has been described as a happy-go-lucky, friendly and not to forget quirky little pug who is apparenlty being very spoiled by Maria, as he should be!
He visits a dog spa weekly where he gets pampers with pedicures, and is regularly treated with chicken, which he loves!
Milkshake isn’t just big on Instagram, he also takes part in national dog shows, all in the hope that one day he can feature in adverts and maybe even some films.
Maria continued:
Milkshake is the most famous pink pug on social media. His Instagram started just as a bit fun but straight away he got such a positive response.
A lot of people messaged me saying they’d had a bad day and seeing Milkshake really cheered them up which encouraged me to post more.
His following just kept getting bigger and bigger.
Maria mentioned that some of his followers can get very star-struck when seeing him in real life, and it’s not hard to see why, we certainly would!
