In a report by an Indonesian news outlet, a man who bragged about murdering an endangered bird online has been arrested.
The bird he killed was a weathered hornbill which is one of 14 protected species of hornbill in Indonesia.
The man, Bobiean Siro, uploaded the following photos onto his Facebook account, which has since been deactivated.
Siro has since been arrested and now faces up to 5 years in an Indonesian jail and a fine of $17,650 U.S.
If for some miracle, Sikro doesn’t end up in jail in Indonesia, he could face punishment in his home country of Malaysia.
