Baby Elephant Stops Traffic To Steal Loads Of Sugarcane From Passing Trucks

Elephants are known for their sweet tooth and enjoy foods such as bananas and sugar cane. They will often demolish local farmer’s fields in order to consume these delights!

A stunned tourist on a Thai highway captured a video of an elephant blocking traffic by stealing sugar cane from incoming vehicles.

In the footage, the elephant is seen stepping onto the road and delaying traffic so it may steal sugar cane from passing vehicles.

Auan-tia is a young elephant that has spent the majority of his life in a nearby sanctuary. The cars had no choice but to slow down and let the young elephant investigate more.

He stumbles upon a vehicle with an open-top and decides to go for it and I n the process, the beautiful creature had produced full gridlock.

What else can you do than stand there in astonishment as this enormous creature searches for his favorite food?

The elephant attempted to steal from over 12 different cars in a two-hour span, according to witnesses, before returning to the jungle.

Because he was such a big elephant, no one dared to approach him and drive him back into the bush. Cars were past him at a snail’s speed, while waiting in long lines for him.

For several minutes, Auan-tia rummaged into each vehicle that had been traveling from a nearby farm.

After searching through one car, he looted some food and then held up the next vehicle in line to do the same. His meal that day consisted of sugar cane and tapioca.

Wildlife officials cautioned motorists to be wary of the animal, although the elephants in this region are friendly and rarely cause harm to humans.

Truck drivers are used to seeing elephants on the road, so they take extra measures, but this was an unusual case in which the beast stopped a huge number of vehicles and refused to go.
