Meet TurboRoo, a tiny chihuahua who was born with only a pair of legs that doesn’t let his disability get in the way of him having fun.
TurboRoo is small but fierce, and that is likely the reason his mom fell in love with him from the start.
His mom works at a veterinary clinic and saw TurboRoo for the first time at only 6 weeks old.
She could tell that he had not had the easiest start to life, he didn’t get on well with his siblings and his last human didn’t know how to take care of him.
It was love at first sight, and the pup that was small enough to fit in the palm of her hand was soon being trained to be like a normal dog.
She helped him by making him jump around to strengthen his hind legs, as he would certainly need them more than normal dogs.
His momma found some companies that made devices to help him move around with his missing limbs, but he was so tiny, none of them would fit.
He had to wait till he was around 6-8 months old before he could fit in one of them.
So his human took it into her own hands and decided to make her own DIY alternative for Turbo.
His momma documented his progress on his Instagram account, and overnight, Turbo went viral!
One day, a San Diego-based engineer reached out on Instagram and offered to make the pup an apparatus using a 3-D printer.
You could say that Turbo hadn’t started properly started his journey until he got his new wheels, and it certainly got him going!
Now as time has gone on, TurboRoo has gone through a number of wheels, all of which have helped him run around and play like a normal dog.
He’s even learned how to get around the house when he doesn’t have his cart with him using only his hind legs.
Turbo is small, yet he is ferocious and his personality is huge!
