Rescue dogs often experience a great deal of anxiety and fear at shelters, especially when they are busy and full of noise.
Rescue dogs may find it hard to show their true personalities since it is challenging for them to adjust to these new circumstances. This video was made by a foster parent who learned this was the situation with her new foster pet.
Los Angeles-based Samson’s Sanctuary is a canine rescue and adoption organization. They just posted a video of one of their rescues, a Shar Pei puppy named Darla who had been labeled “shutdown and snappy” by her former shelter, on their TikTok account, @samsonssanctuary.
Despite this, Darla turned out to be significantly different than they first thought, they learned after spending only a tiny bit of time with her foster mother.
Darla was unfortunately abandoned when she was only four months old, which is likely why she is so wary of new people.
It’s a great end to the story to find out that Darla’s foster mother gave her the chance to express who she really is!
