This is the heartwarming moment when a pair of rescued tigers get to experience swimming out of their cage for the first time ever.
Carli and Lily were rescued from a “dirty, run-down cage” in Buffalo, New York that had lost its license due to its terrible conditions.
The pair of tigers were both 12 years old at the time and were moved to their new home at the Safe Haven Wildlife Sanctuary in Nevada.
After 12 hard, cruel years, the pair were finally given the chance to taste what it would be like to be wild.
Kelly Donithan from the International Fund For Animal Welfare (IFAW) drove to visit the tigers in their new home and watched them attempt their very first swim.

“Most people think that cats don’t like water, which is mostly true. Except that tigers really love to play and sing and bathe in the water,” said Donithan.
Lily was a natural and immediately took to the water, just like she has been swimming her whole life!
Tigers are known to love water, so it’s pretty amazing to see these beautiful big cats have such a happy experience.
