A rhesus macaque monkey from Rode in India adopted an adorable stray pup.

The monkey adopted the pup after finding it on its own wondering around the neighborhood. It was seen carrying the poor pup through the streets before stopping as people gathered to watch the unique sight.
The locals were so impressed after watching the primate defend the little dog from strays that they set out food for the two unlikely pals.

According to Local news accounts (roughly translated from Tamil via Google Translate), the forest department officials have taken custody of the puppy. The Dodo reached out for confirmation to no avail. We will update this story if we get more information.
