Tanakit Suwanyangyaun, a photographer, had the great fortune to capture a picture of a gorgeous blue whale cleaning its blowhole.
However, the way the sunlight and water droplets fell gave the appearance that the whale was blowing a rainbow-colored heart.
Tanakit had spent the day on a scuba diving excursion, touring the region close to Sri Lanka while swimming with the whales.
He was delighted to snap an especially unique photo above the water after taking pictures of himself with the biggest creatures on Earth underwater.
“The photos are a dream come true for me”, he said. “I’d longed to swim with blue whales all my life – it was such an unforgettable experience.”
“The whales were swimming past quite quickly, we only saw each one for a few seconds before it swam off, so I was very lucky.”
“I’d go back again and again if I had the chance. I was staying on a boat in the Maldives and thought that Sri Lanka wasn’t far away, so we decided we might go and explore.”
“We wanted to explore the area to search for blue whales, who are the largest living thing on our planet.”
“The size is beyond my wildest imagination and this shot was so lucky as it captured the breath that looked like a rainbow,” the lucky photographer recalls.
“The photos are a dream come true for me. I’d longed to swim with blue whales all my life – it was such an unforgettable experience. I’m proud to be able to capture unique moments like this and share it with the world.”
