This is the moment the world’s largest sea turtle emerges from the water onto the beach.
It is a majestic leatherback turtle, and it seems to have come out of the water to rest upon the sand.
Leatherback turtles are the biggest turtle species in the world. Unlike most turtles, they don’t have a hard shell, instead, their backs are covered with thick, leathery skin, hence the name.
Leatherbacks prefer to travel the world alone and only meet with other turtles when breeding. Like other turtles, they lay their eggs on a beach and let the baby turtles make their own way to the sea.

They are specially designed to cope with the colder seas so they can dive deep for their favorite snack, jellyfish!
The leatherbacks from fins can grow up to 9 feet taller than any other sea turtle, amazing!
