This is the terrifying moment when a lady and her partner woke up to see three thirsty lionesses licking water off the outside of their tent
Francie Francisca Lubbe and her partner set up camp in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in Botswana when the lionesses approached their tent.
While most of us would have had some form of a freakout, the woman instead said she felt in a privileged position to have such visitors.
You can see in the video the lions licking the translucent tent while the camerawoman tried to stay quiet:
“Too often people panic and behave badly when lions approach in the wild,” said Dereck and Beverly Joubert, a pair of big cat conservationists.
“I appreciate what these travelers did and how they responded, with calm and appreciation. Well done.”
“The lions were licking dew or moisture off the tent apparently and not a threat in any way so the reaction is absolutely appropriate and their appreciation of the absolute privilege is fantastic.”
What an amazing experience!
