“It’s very unusual to see a bear and a wolf getting on like this”
A female grey wolf and a male brown bear seem to have crossed the species line and become companions.
They were spotted together every night for ten days straight, hanging our and sharing food, spending several hours together. The wolf was even accepted by other bears in the area.
They would even share food with each other.
Often we believe nature follows a set of rules, predators staying solitary and hunting for themselves and in some cases for their families.
But sometimes even in nature, these ‘rules’ don’t apply.
No-one can know exactly why or how the young wolf and bear became friends. I think that perhaps they were both alone and they were young and a bit unsure of how to survive alone…It is nice to share rare events in the wild that you would never expect to see.
Here are some more snap’s he took of the pair:
“No one had observed bears and wolves living near each other and becoming friends in Europe”
“I think that perhaps they were both alone when they were young and a bit unsure of how to survive alone”
He photographed the wolf and brown bear every night for ten days straight.
“I came across these two and knew that it made the perfect story”
“It seems to me that they feel safe being together.”
