Have you ever seen a cat like it?
Scrappy got his unique coat when he developed vitiligo over time.
He started with an all-black coat, but it has transformed into a stunning spotted pattern.
His photos have been popular with fans on the internet for years, and you can see why as he is absolutely gorgeous!
Sadly, Scrappy is no longer with us, but we want to share his story and honour the beautiful cat that he was.
His Facebook page says that “He was born in 1997 as a black cat and only a few years ago he started turning white (maybe vitiligo) and has ended up with this extraordinary pattern.”
Scrappy’s owner, David says: “Scrappy was sitting on his own and, though he was a beautiful cat, we didn’t think others would regard him to be as cute as his siblings.”
“I made the decision to take Scrappy as I knew he would be the last one to be taken, if at all.”
His owners have commissioned a book about the treasured cat, called The Adventures of Scrappy the Cat.
Scrappy fell ill in 2017 and passed away at the age of nineteen. He is still much loved and missed by his owner and is irreplaceable.
