One cold and wet day, Sabahattin Yilmaz was at home when he noticed something perched outside his window on a ledge.
It was a wet, shivering pigeon who had clearly failed to find shelter from the storm. Yilmaz did not want to see the bird suffer, so he got creative.
He believed that it would stress the pigeon out to carry him inside, so he decided to bring the heat to him.
He pulled out a hairdryer and blew warm air directly onto the bird. Thankfully for us, a passerby on the street below captured the whole thing on camera.
What’s even more, Yilmaz had no idea he was being filmed, he did this all out of the kindness of his own heart.
The video went viral and prompted local news to track him down to find out the real story.
During an interview, he said “[The pigeon] recovered after quite a bit of warming him up. I also gave him bird food. I [heated him] again after 15 minutes. After the bird recovered well and ate his food, he flew away.”
“He has a life, too,” Yılmaz said. “That’s why I did it.”
