There are few more joyous feelings than reuniting with your beloved animal whether it’s a pet dog or in this case an elephant best friend.
This is what it is like when Kham La, a young Asian elephant and Darrick, a tractor driver are reunited after only hours of being apart.
Every single morning, Darrick shows up, turns on his tractor and drives down the path at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand and sees this:
He sees Kham La and her family purring with excitement while running towards the tractor to say hello to Darrick.
And he loves it too, reaching out his hand to say good morning to the ecstatic elephant.
And she always reaches back.
Eventually, they have to say goodbye to each other.
Then the next day it happens all over again.
It is known in the animal world that elephants are extremely intelligent creatures and have emotional capabilities such as empathy and grief.
But you don’t need to be a scientist to see the love between Kham La and Darrick. It’s really hard to imagine why any human would want to harm an elephant.
